My feelings for Monday are equivalent to my feelings for January—both motivated yet miserable to start afresh and be productive. Don't get me wrong! I love to set myself goals and I am definitely happiest when I'm at my busiest, but reaching the other side of the festive period is extremely disheartening. It's cold, the days are short, and there are no fairy lights to brighten up the world. January; you are definitely not my favourite. If I'm being completely honest, I don't really start to enjoy the year until April. Three months, wasted.

As a rule of thumb on this blog, each negative must be transformed into a positive. Instead of noticing the non-spiration that accompanies this time of the year, I've decided to list all of the exciting features that put a smile on my face! (I actually wrote a similar post in November last year, which you can read here)

- A personal highlight was mine and Jack's one year anniversary last Friday. The best year of my life!
- There are sales everywhere. If you can't face them in person, the internet is your absolute best friend
- The second series of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is released onto Netflix in March and I cannot wait!
- The shortest day of the year has been and gone, meaning that the days should finally be getting lighter
- Exam season is upon us, but it means that we've successfully fought through one semester already
- Apart from a few birthdays here and there, my money is finally my own again after the festive frenzy
- The high street will shortly be bringing out their SS16 ranges. Summer is only five months away!
- Shopping becomes a hell of a lot easier without a constant crowd of Christmas shoppers
- Although I'm trying to eat a lot healthier, I'm very excited for the reappearance of mini eggs
- New Year's resolutions/goals can have such a positive effect on your mood and attitude
- The weather is the perfect excuse to stay in, wrapped up in a warm blanket, with Netflix and a cup of tea

How do you pick yourself up from January blues? Do you have anything to add to my list? Leave a comment!
